About me
Hi friend,
I’m a Christian writer and entrepreneur with a passion and a calling. My goal first and foremost is to glorify God in all I do.
I love writing fiction because it can open up new worlds in our minds and give us the ability to learn and understand others through empathy.
I love writing non-fiction because of how it can help both the writer and the reader process life and better understand the world and the Bible.
My husband and I love living in the Pacific Northwest where we can reach deserts, mountains, lakes, snow, rainforests, the ocean, or the Canadian border within a day’s drive!

About my company
Why did I choose the name "Bigger Waves Publishing" for my LLC?
I was working in healthcare during COVID. The first few months especially were full of uncertainty and fear. None of us knew what was going on or how long it would last or how bad it would get. Every weekday I would get to our facility and put on all my PPE and walk inside, not at all prepared for what I was walking into. I would watch the Johns Hopkins COVID map obsessively to see the case and death counts worldwide, wondering how long we had. At the time, I didn't believe I was going to be able to handle whatever we were in the middle of. But I wanted to be brave! So I kept showing up and putting one foot in front of the other (that's not a testament to my own strength, but to God's.) The one thing I kept repeating to myself, and to any of my coworkers when they were feeling scared or discouraged, was: "we just gotta ride the wave." We couldn't fight against it and we couldn't get away from it. Our only options were to let our fear pull us under the wave, or to ride it out, all the while knowing we weren't in control of the wave.
I view my writing as a way to encourage people and give them hope, especially when that hope is named Jesus. Born and raised in Kansas City, I’m no stranger to severe weather, and I incorporate it frequently in my fiction as a symbol for the storms we encounter in life.
